How to develop more effective assessments using technology?

As I learn how to design more purposeful assessments in my lessons, I have been thinking about incorporating digital tools that provide enrichment and innovation in the virtual classroom. Defining goals and criteria, aligning these goals with standards, and creating constructive learning experiences are key aspects of the planning process.

A few weeks ago, I created my checklist with some ideas about more effective assessments. Based on the benefits of technology, I included a new question and modified others that I have shared before in my Assessment Design Checklist. This time, I wanted to focus on exploring digital tools to stimulate unique experiences for learners:

NEW QUESTION> How can I integrate more effective technology or use digital tools to expand students’ knowledge?

As part of my experience as an online Spanish teacher, I learned how to use various digital tools and online school platforms. One of the challenges I had was interacting with new learners or beginners in the target language since my main goal is to promote Spanish from the first day of class. Finding the right digital tool will be fundamental to expand student’s growth and knowledge. In addition, making materials accessible to all learners will be crucial to provide a positive learning environment and develop best practices in virtual teaching.
